In this guide
The YETI Tundra 35 is the smallest hard cooler in the Tundra line: a rotomolded box 53.6 cm wide and 9.7 kg empty, with a removable dry-goods basket. On yeti.ca it listed at $395.00 in Canadian dollars on 2026-10-15, in White among the core colours, with Add to Bag live.
The decision is what paying nearly six times the $69.99 of Canadian Tire's Igloo Profile II 30-qt actually purchases. On YETI's product and warranty pages, the answer is structure and coverage rather than volume: the Tundra's interior is smaller than the Igloo's.
Our verdict
Buy the white Tundra 35 at $395 from yeti.ca when the cooler rides in boats and camps every weekend; for occasional picnics, Igloo's 30-qt Profile II holds more and costs $69.99.
- A good fit for
- Small crews who boat, camp or fish most weekends, haul a cooler over rough ground, and want bear-resistant construction backed by a five-year warranty.
- We would skip it if
- Day-picnic buyers an Igloo covers for about $70, shoppers picking capacity by the number in the name (the interior is about 23 litres), and anyone who needs a published ice-retention rating.
Reasons to consider it
- Rotomolded shell with up to 7.6 cm (three inches) of PermaFrost insulation, the construction the price buys
- Meets IGBC standards for bear-resistant containers when locked with extra-long-shank Master locks
- Five-year warranty on the Tundra line, longer than the three years YETI gives its Hopper soft coolers
The compromises
- The interior is about 23 litres: the 35 is a size name, not a capacity, and a 30-qt Igloo Profile II is listed at $69.99
- 9.7 kg empty before any ice; the Igloo Profile II is listed at 2.86 kg
- YETI's page says ice for days but gives no hours or days figure, so multi-day performance has no stated rating
What we have not verified: YETI's Canadian page gives ice capacity (13 kg) and can count but no retention-time figure, so the step up from a $70 foam-insulated cooler cannot be priced per day of ice. Limited-edition colours list higher (an olive and orange colourway showed $420); only the white core colour was priced here.
The things in this guide
A closer look at the products, who they may suit, and what to check before buying.

Tundra 35 Hard Cooler
$395.00 at yeti.ca (White, checked 2026-10-15) buys the rotomolded Tundra 35: up to 7.6 cm of PermaFrost insulation, IGBC bear-resistant standards with extra-long-shank locks, and a five-year warranty. Value only for buyers whose use actually includes those conditions.
Before you buy: The interior is about 23 litres, less than a 30-qt Igloo, it weighs 9.7 kg empty, the locks and accessories cost extra, and no ice-retention figure is published.
Price checked October 15, 2026. Retailer prices can change. The 35 is a name, not a capacity
The Tundra 35's interior measures 35.1 x 23.9 x 27.4 cm per YETI's Canadian spec table, which multiplies out to roughly 23 litres of usable space. Canadian Tire's Igloo Profile II is titled 30-qt, about 28 litres, and costs $69.99. Buyers shopping by the number in the model name get less room than the cheaper cooler offers.
YETI's own capacity language is cans and ice rather than quarts: the Tundra 35 fits 39 cans only, or 13 kg of ice only. One removable dry-goods basket keeps bread or a phone above the meltwater. Read the name as a place in the lineup, not a promise about volume.
Rated for bear country, sized for a small crew
YETI says its Tundra hard coolers meet IGBC standards for bear-resistant containers when used with extra-long-shank Master locks. The standard applies to the locked box, not the box alone, and the locks are on you. For camps in bear country that is a concrete, checkable claim rather than a toughness adjective.
The same page frames the 35 as the pick for a small crew's day, one that rides on a 4-wheeler or in an inner tube. At 9.7 kg empty, plus up to 13 kg of ice, it is a two-handed carry once loaded.
Five years of warranty, with exclusions
YETI's Canadian warranty page puts the Tundra in its five-year group; Hopper soft coolers get three. Three conditions attach: the cooler must come from a YETI authorized dealer, you return it to YETI, and it must have been used as intended and cared for per the instructions. The remedy is repair or replacement at YETI's discretion.
The exclusions matter as much as the term: punctures, scratches, normal wear, and the natural breakdown of colours and materials over time are not warranted, so the warranty backs structure, not cosmetics. The Amazon.ca listing is sold by YETI Authorized Canada, which fits the authorized-dealer condition; the Igloo page read here states no warranty term to compare.
The full cost, with accessories
The sticker is $395.00, but the working setup costs more. On the same product page YETI sells the Tundra divider for the 35 at $30.00 and a 4 lb YETI Ice Block at $40.00, which brings the total to $425 with the divider and $465 with the ice block as well, before the Master locks the bear standard assumes.
The comparison cooler makes the same math in miniature: Canadian Tire lists the Igloo Profile II 30-qt at $69.99 with pick-up and ship-to-home available. Amazon.ca had the white Tundra 35 at the same $395.00 on 2026-10-15, shipped by Amazon and sold by YETI Authorized Canada.
When a $70 cooler is the answer
Skip the Tundra when the cooler's job is a Saturday at the park or drinks for one barbecue. The Igloo holds more, about 28 litres against the Tundra's 23, weighs 2.86 kg against 9.7, and costs $69.99.
Also skip it when the plan needs a rated retention figure: YETI's page says ice for days but publishes no hours-or-days number for the Tundra 35, so multi-day planning rests on the insulation spec and how you manage ice. And buyers who simply want the most interior per dollar should note the geometry once more: the cheaper Igloo is the larger box.
