Loop sells several families of earplugs, and the Quiet 2 is the plain one: no filter, no switchable modes, just a soft silicone body shaped like a ring with a tip on the end. Loop's UK store lists it at £19.95 in black, white, violet or mint, and the box holds one pair, four sizes of silicone tips from XS to L, and a carry case. Loop pitches it for focus, commuting, travel and sleep.
The wrinkle is what the same page says about sleep. Its FAQ calls the Quiet 2 an everyday plug and the Dream, a separate model at £44.95, the one designed for sleep. So the question for a sleeper is whether a £25 step up buys enough: 27 dB SNR against 24, and a shape built for side sleeping.
Our verdict
A well-supported set of reusable plugs for dulling a room, not silencing it; at up to 24 dB SNR it takes the edge off a snorer or a street, and Loop itself sends sleepers to the Dream.
- A good fit for
- A light sleeper bothered by steady background noise who wants something washable and has small or unusual ears that never fit one-size plugs.
- We would skip it if
- Your problem is a loud snorer or a bar under the window, or you sleep on your side and cannot tolerate a hard ring pressing into the ear.
Reasons to consider it
- Four included tip sizes, XS through L, aimed at smaller or awkward ears
- Reusable silicone with a carry case, so one £19.95 purchase replaces a drawer of disposables
- A 100-day return window that accepts used pairs, plus defect coverage lasting two years
The compromises
- Up to 24 dB SNR is a ceiling that depends on fit, and Loop's FAQ says the Dream may be the better choice for sleep
- The Dream costs £44.95, £25 more than the Quiet 2, for a 27 dB SNR figure and a side-sleeper shape
- Custom-made items are not returnable, which rules out the £6 personalised case
What we have not verified: Comfort for side sleepers, how well the seal holds through a night and how the silicone ages under washing are unknown, as is who pays return postage from the UK and how Loop handles a warranty claim here, since its warranty page has no UK section.
The things in this guide
A closer look at the products, who they may suit, and what to check before buying.

Quiet 2 Earplugs, Black
Four tip sizes, a washable silicone body, a carry case and a 100-day window that takes back used pairs, for £19.95 with defect coverage that runs two years from delivery.
Before you buy: Up to 24 dB SNR is modest for a loud bedroom, the ring body may press on a side sleeper's ear, and Loop itself recommends the Dream for people whose main goal is sleep.

Loop's UK page gives a single number for the Quiet 2: up to 24 dB SNR of certified noise reduction. It is a laboratory rating, and the FAQ adds that what you actually get depends on fit and surroundings, so treat it as the best case with a good seal rather than a promise for every ear.
Loop frames the plug as one that softens everyday sound: conversations, traffic, commuting noise. At that level the description is fair. A neighbour's television becomes a murmur and a partner who breathes loudly becomes tolerable. A hard snorer, a busy road or a bar two doors down are different problems, and the Dream exists for exactly those.
Four tip sizes and a body you can wash
What justifies a Loop over a bag of foam is fit. The body is soft-touch silicone, the tips come in XS, S, M and L, and the listing points to the range as the fix for smaller ears. The plugs are reusable and ship with a carry case, which in practice is the first thing to go missing.
The shape is the tradeoff. The ring sits in the bowl of the ear with the tip in the canal, and Loop describes the design as comfortable for long wear, but a firm ring is still a firm ring when a pillow presses on it. The Quiet 2 page does not mention side sleeping; the Dream's does, describing a low-profile shape in the softest silicone and a fit meant to stay in through side-sleeping and all-night movement.
A 100-day window that takes back used plugs
Loop's returns page allows a refund, store credit or exchange within 100 days of delivery, used pairs included. That removes most of the worry about ordering earplugs unseen. The conditions are that tips and case come back with the plugs and that you pick the refund option in the return process. Anything made to your specification is excluded, which on a plain reading covers the personalised case at £6 extra.
Two things the page leaves open: who pays return postage, since it only says the portal provides a label and a drop-off point, and how a single £19.95 pair relates to the £39 free-shipping threshold, which it does not reach. Beyond the window, Loop covers manufacturing defects for two years from delivery by repair, replacement or refund. The warranty text says service may be limited to the country of sale and has no UK section, so how a claim runs from here is not spelled out.
Where the Dream at £44.95 changes the math
Both UK pages quote SNR, so the numbers compare directly: 24 dB for the Quiet 2 against 27 dB for the Dream, a three-decibel gap, for £25 more (£44.95 against £19.95). Loop's FAQ puts the choice plainly: if the primary goal is better sleep, the Dream may be the better choice, while the Quiet 2 suits noise reduction through the day.
That makes the extra money mostly a fit purchase, not a loudness one. The Dream adds a side-sleeper shape and a second tip type; the noise figure moves only a little. If the noise you fight is a fan, a ticking radiator or a partner turning over and you sleep on your back, the Quiet 2 is a £19.95 experiment with a long return window behind it. If you sleep on your side, the Dream is the plug Loop built for that.
Skip it if the noise is loud or you sleep on your side
Pass on the Quiet 2 if the sound keeping you awake is a serious snorer, a main road or a bar. Up to 24 dB SNR will soften those, not remove them, and Loop describes the Dream as the model for partner snoring and night noise. The same goes for side sleepers who have struggled with hard plugs before; the ring body is the part of this design a pillow will find.
Buy it if foam never fits your ears, you want a plug that survives washing, and your bedroom noise is steady background rather than sharp peaks. Try every tip size inside the 100 days, keep the original tips and case, and if it is not enough, the £25 step up is the model Loop pointed you to anyway.
