Osprey has sold some version of the Daylite for years, and in Canada the shelf has grown into a run of near-neighbours: a $75 Cinch, a $90 Daylite, this $110 Plus (all in Canadian dollars), and a newer Driftshade Plus at $115. Shopping the Daylite Plus means choosing among those, because the gaps between them are measured in $5 to $20 steps.
Two numbers on Osprey's Canadian pages carry the decision: the Plus is a 20 L pack with a sleeve for a 15-inch laptop, the Daylite a 13 L pack with a 13-inch sleeve. Both attach to compatible Osprey packs, so clipping on is not what the extra $20 buys. If your laptop fits the smaller sleeve and your day fits 13 L, the cheaper pack is enough.
Our verdict
A $110, 20 L frameless daypack worth the $20 over the 13 L Daylite if you carry a 14 to 15-inch laptop or want room. Both clip to larger Osprey bags, so attachment is no reason to step up.
- A good fit for
- Commuters and travellers who carry a 14 to 15-inch laptop or want 20 L in one size with no torso sizing decision; a compatible Osprey bag to clip it to is a bonus.
- We would skip it if
- Your laptop is 13 inches or smaller, you want a fitted torso length, or you carry loads that need a frame; the $90 Daylite's 13 L and 13-inch sleeve cover lighter errands.
Reasons to consider it
- Osprey lists 20 L against the Daylite's 13 L, and a sleeve for a 15-inch laptop or tablet where the Daylite's is sized for 13 inches
- It adds a front zippered slash pocket, a shove-it pocket and extra die-cut EVA foam padding in the harness that Osprey marks as Plus only
- Repairs fall under the All Mighty Guarantee, which Osprey applies to a pack made in 1974 or yesterday
The compromises
- One size means no torso adjustment, so fit is whatever the harness happens to give you
- At $110 it sits $20 above the Daylite and $5 below the Driftshade version, a narrow band to judge from feature lists alone
- Osprey quotes a 6 to 10 week repair turnaround, and the owner pays the postage to get the pack there
What we have not verified: Nothing here comes from carrying or measuring the pack. Osprey's Canadian page says the sleeve takes a 15-inch laptop, while Amazon.ca's listing copy says up to 14 inches. No list naming which Osprey bags accept the attachment appeared on either Daylite page.

Daylite Plus · DAYLTPLUSS21
The extra 7 L, the larger laptop sleeve and the added front pockets are what separate the Daylite Plus from the cheaper Daylite; the attachment feature is shared by both.
Before you buy: One size fits everyone equally well or equally badly, and Osprey publishes no load rating for a pack with no frame, so heavy commutes are outside what the listing supports.
Price checked October 16, 2026. Retailer prices can change.Twenty litres, one size, $110
Osprey Canada lists the Daylite Plus at $110.00 as a 20 L pack in a single O/S size, 48 x 28 x 24 cm and 0.585 kg. The feature list is a daypack's: a large panel-loading main compartment, an interior sleeve for a hydration reservoir, laptop or tablet, two side water-bottle pockets with compression straps, and a front pocket with a key clip. The grab handle on the harness doubles as a luggage pass-thru.
Because it is a frameless one-size pack, it cannot adapt to a long or short torso, and Osprey publishes no load rating to check against before you commit. In Green Belt/Green Canopy, the colour pictured, Amazon.ca lists it at $109.99, sold and shipped by Amazon.ca, with returns accepted within 30 days of receipt.
The decision happens on Osprey's own shelf
Osprey's Canadian Daylite collection prices the Daylite Cinch at $75.00, the Daylite at $90.00, this Daylite Plus at $110.00, the Driftshade Plus at $115.00 and the Daylite Tote Pack at $120.00. Standalone Daylite laptop sleeves in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes are $39.00 each, sold as separate accessories in the same collection.
The Daylite comes with its own sleeve, sized for a 13-inch laptop or tablet, so the $20 gap is the whole story for anyone with a small laptop or none. For a 14 or 15-inch laptop the arithmetic tilts: the Daylite plus a $39 sleeve comes to $129, which is $19 more than the Plus costs with its 15-inch sleeve built in.
Capacity and sleeve size are what the Plus adds
Osprey's Canadian pages put the Daylite at 13 L, 43 x 26 x 20 cm, and the Daylite Plus at 20 L, 48 x 28 x 24 cm. The sleeve grows from a 13-inch laptop or tablet to a 15-inch one, and the Plus adds a front zippered slash pocket, a shove-it pocket and extra EVA foam padding that Osprey marks as Plus only. Those are the differences the pages support.
The clip-on job is not among them: both listings say the pack attaches to a variety of compatible Osprey packs, and the Plus page says the Daylite and Daylite Plus both attach to several of Osprey's travel and backpacking bags. Neither page names the compatible bags, so confirm yours with Osprey before counting on it. Someone with no Osprey luggage can ignore the feature and choose on volume and sleeve size.
The guarantee is generous and slow
Osprey's Canadian guarantee page promises to repair any damage or defect free of charge, whether the pack was made in 1974 or yesterday, and to replace it if it cannot be repaired. Cosmetic wear, lost or stolen bags, third-party repair costs and fit or colour preferences sit outside it. The owner ships the pack in; Osprey pays for the repair and the return, and sewing repairs use black thread, so a patched panel will not match.
The stated turnaround is 6 to 10 weeks. On a $110 daypack that timeline quietly decides behaviour: most owners will replace a pack with a failed zipper before going two months without one, so the guarantee is worth more on Osprey's expensive packs than on this one. Dirty bags come back unrepaired, and mouldy ones are destroyed.
