The Adult Vanquisher 3.0 Goggles sell for £25 on Speedo's UK store in black with a smoke lens, taxes included. The product description names the change from the old model: Ocular 360-degree lenses that Speedo says add 14% to the field of view compared with the Vanquisher 2.0, stronger, flatter and wider straps, and a slide-and-lock nose bridge.
The 3.0 comes in one adult size, with a specification block of five items: collection, activity, UV protection, strap type and lens type. What follows sorts the facts Speedo states from the ones it leaves out, because for a goggle the missing ones, fit dimensions and materials, are the ones that decide whether it leaks on your face.
Our verdict
A £25 one-size training goggle with 60-day free UK returns, the only fit test on offer. The listing gives a 380 nm UV figure and a wider-field-of-view claim against the 2.0, but no materials or dimensions.
- A good fit for
- A lap swimmer who wants an inexpensive, World Aquatics-approved goggle in smoke, mirrored or prescription versions of the same frame, and who is fine with a single adult size.
- We would skip it if
- You need a stated lens or gasket material, a published eye-socket size, interchangeable nose pieces, a written warranty, or a prescription weaker than -1.5, the lowest option on the optical selector.
Reasons to consider it
- Smoke at £25, mirrored at £29 and prescription at £30 on the same frame, with the prescription selector running from -1.5 to -8.0 dioptres
- Slide-and-lock nose bridge and a double strap, with the frame described as fully approved by World Aquatics
- Free UK returns for 60 days from receiving the order, and the banner and the written policy agree
The compromises
- One adult size only, and Speedo gives no eye-socket dimensions, so fit has to be judged from the return window
- No materials are named for the lens, gasket or strap, and no warranty statement appears on the pages read
- Returns must be in pristine condition with tags intact, and Speedo does not do direct exchanges
What we have not verified: Nothing here comes from wearing the goggle. Speedo does not publish the lens material, the gasket material, the strap width, the weight or which of its two anti-fog processes the Vanquisher 3.0 uses. The 14% field-of-view figure is Speedo's own comparison against the 2.0, with no test method given. The optical listing's size selector marks the -3.0 option as unavailable on the day it was read, and the optical description says 0 to -8.0 while the selector starts at -1.5. Whether the optical version can be ordered with a different power in each eye is not stated, and no warranty statement was found. We did not check whether the 2.0 is still listed in the UK.
The things in this guide
A closer look at the products, who they may suit, and what to check before buying.

Vanquisher 3.0 Goggles · Black / Smoke
It is the cheapest version, and the 60-day free UK return window is the only fit test on offer.
Before you buy: One size and no published dimensions mean a narrow or wide face may need the Women's or Junior variant instead, and Speedo does not describe how those differ.
Price checked 17 October 2026. Retailer prices can change. The listing says how the 3.0 differs from the 2.0
The only place the Vanquisher 2.0 appears on the UK listing is inside the 3.0 description, where Speedo claims a 14% larger field of view from what it calls Ocular 360-degree lenses. The same text promises straps that are stronger, flatter and wider than before, and cushioning it describes as an improved fit for both racing and training.
The comparisons arrive without a method. The listing gives no measurement of the old or new field of view, no strap width in millimetres, and no account of what changed in the gasket. Read them as Speedo's description of intent. The parts that match the collection page are a low-profile frame meant to sit against the eye socket, a slide-lock nose bridge and a double strap, and those are the design facts a 2.0 owner can carry over.
Smoke at £25, mirrored at £29, prescription at £30
The black frame with a smoke lens is £25, and the mirrored adult version in blue is £29. Both list the same 380 nm UV line, one size and the same specification block, differing only in lens type. The search results also show an adult optical version with a White/Clear colourway at £30 and women's mirrored versions at £29, so the lens options sit across several colourways rather than on one black frame.
The optical version in black and grey is £30 per pair. Its size selector runs from -1.5 to -6.0 in half steps, then -7.0 and -8.0, and on the day it was read the -3.0 option was flagged as unavailable. The optical description claims 0 to -8.0, but the selector starts at -1.5, so a swimmer who needs a lighter correction has no option to pick. The listing also does not say whether each eye can have a different power.
One size, a slide-and-lock bridge, and no numbers for your face
The adult goggle is sold as size 1SZ. Adjustment happens at the nose, through what the description names a fully adjustable slide-and-lock nose bridge, and at the double strap. There are no interchangeable nose pieces in the description, no stated range of bridge widths and no eye-socket dimensions. The collection page describes the frame as sitting snugly against the eye socket in a streamlined size, which is a shape statement, not a measurement.
Speedo's own care guide supplies the only fit test: press the goggles to your eyes without the strap and look for slight suction and even pressure. That is a test for a shop aisle, not a web page. The collection page lists Women's and Junior versions and gives no dimensions for any of them, so a buyer with a narrow face is guessing between sizes, with the return window as the fallback.
The anti-fog claim is general; the UV claim is a number
The specification block lists UV Protection as 380nm, without a standard or a transmission percentage attached. Treat the number as a spec label, because no test reference is provided to interpret it further.
The listing text does not mention anti-fog at all. Speedo's blog fills in the rest at brand level: every Speedo goggle is made with an anti-fog coating, applied either as a spray on the inside of rigid PC lenses or impregnated into flexible CP lenses, and the sprayed kind can wear away with rubbing and age. The Vanquisher 3.0 listing names neither lens type, so which process applies here is not stated. The practical reading is the same either way: do not touch the inside of the lens, and expect the coating to fade eventually.
Care and returns are documented; a warranty is not
Speedo's care advice is specific enough to follow: rinse in lukewarm water after each swim, never use soap or detergent because it strips the anti-fog layer, dry flat in the open air, store in a pouch and keep the lenses out of sunlight because UV light can damage them over time. The goggle listing repeats none of this, so a buyer has to find the blog. The listing does offer 30% off a £10 goggles storage case with any Vanquisher 3.0, which lines up with the pouch advice.
The returns position is consistent here: the site banner reads Free 60 Day Returns and the written policy gives 60 days from receiving the order, free within the UK. Items must come back in pristine condition with tags intact, and there are no direct exchanges, so a different size or lens means returning the pair and placing a new order. Standard delivery on a £25 order is £5.99, since free delivery starts at £50. No warranty statement for goggles appears on the listing, the returns page or the collection page.
When to skip the Vanquisher 3.0
Skip it if a written warranty matters to you, because the pages read offer only the 60-day return and nothing beyond that. Skip the optical version if you need less than -1.5, since the selector starts there although the description says 0, or a different power in each eye, which the listing does not mention; the -3.0 option was also unavailable when read.
Move on as well if you know your face runs wide or narrow and you cannot try a pair on first. A one-size goggle with no published dimensions and a returns process that requires pristine condition with tags is a loose fit-testing arrangement, though the 60-day window gives it more room than most. At £25 the smoke lens is the low-risk way in. Buy it for that, and do not expect the listing to tell you what it is made of.
