Catit Senses 2.0 Super Circuit Review: Buy the Twelve-Piece Set Once, Then Rebuild It

A closed ball track in 12 click-together pieces that Catit says works with every circuit it has made, blue or green. The brand site gives no US price or footprint, and the value is in relayouts, not the first build.

THE SHORT VERSION

Catit sells three Senses circuit sets on its US site, and the product manual titles the family 'Senses 2.0 Circuits'. The Play Circuit (#43154) has 1 straight part, 4 flat curves, 2 end parts and a ball; the Wave Circuit (#43155) swaps two of the flat curves for elevated ones; the Super Circuit (#43156) has 2 straights, 2 elevated curves, 6 flat curves, 2 end parts and a ball, 12 pieces in all. Catit describes the Super Circuit as 'perfect for multiple cats'. Not one of the three has a price on catit.com, which carries a Store Locator link and a 'Where to buy' page instead.

The question a buyer has to settle is not which set is best; Catit's own compatibility claim means any set can grow into any other. It is whether a closed track with a bell ball will hold a specific cat's interest, and Catit's answer is that it will if the owner keeps changing the shape.

Our verdict

Start with the Super Circuit: its 12 pieces cover every part type the two smaller sets hold, and rebuilding keeps a cat interested. Its weak point is what Catit does not print: price, footprint, ball size, supervision.

A good fit for
Multi-cat homes and single cats that bat at rolling objects, with an owner willing to change the layout every few weeks
We would skip it if
You need to know the assembled footprint before ordering, you want a toy with a stated age or supervision guideline, or your cat ignores balls it cannot carry off

Reasons to consider it

  • 12 pieces covering straight, flat curve, elevated curve, and end parts, which is the full vocabulary of the Catit circuit system in one box
  • Catit states all its circuits are compatible with one another regardless of color, so the set extends with any older blue or newer green parts
  • The orange ball has a removable bell and screws open, so a catnip-sprayed paper towel can go inside per Catit's own tip

The compromises

  • Catit's US brand site lists no price for #43156, and the Flower Fountain, the other Catit product here, shares that blank, so cost has to come from a retailer
  • No assembled length, footprint, or piece dimensions are published, so whether a given layout fits under a coffee table is a guess
  • Cleaning is by hand only per Catit's guide, with a full disassembly first and every part dried before it goes back together

What we have not verified: Catit publishes no price, no dimensions, no ball diameter, no plastic type beyond 'BPA-free', no age guidance, no supervision wording, and no warranty statement for the Senses Circuits on the pages read for this article. The 12-piece count and the compatibility claim are Catit's; neither has been measured or tested here.

The things in this guide

A closer look at the products, who they may suit, and what to check before buying.

Catit Senses 2.0 Super Circuit
The set to buy if you buy one

Senses 2.0 Super Circuit

Twelve pieces with every part type Catit makes, so relayouts are possible without a second box, and connectors that Catit says fit every circuit it has sold, including the older blue ones.

Before you buy: No price, footprint, or dimensions on the brand site; washing is by hand with full disassembly; Catit publishes no supervision or age note, so that judgment is on the owner.

Twelve pieces, three SKUs, and the numbers Catit leaves out

Catit's contents list for the Super Circuit (#43156) is exact: 2 straight parts, 2 elevated curved parts, 6 flat curved parts, 2 end parts, and 1 circuit ball. The Play Circuit (#43154) and Wave Circuit (#43155) are both 8-piece sets, each with 1 straight, 2 ends and a ball, differing only in whether two of the four curves are elevated. So the Super Circuit is, in part terms, a Wave Circuit plus one straight and four extra flat curves. For an owner who wants a loop that changes shape over time, that surplus of curves is what argues for it, since a layout with only four curves can close into a single ring and not much else.

What Catit does not state is any dimension: no track length, no assembled footprint for a suggested layout, no piece length, no ball diameter, no weight. The manual is a single pictorial sheet showing how the pieces click and unclick, with no measurements. Materials are given only as 'BPA-free', no plastic named. The missing footprint is the practical gap: a 12-piece loop may or may not fit under a side table or along a hallway wall; only building it tells you. The call: order it expecting the first evening to go to finding a layout that fits, and treat the missing ball size as a reason to keep it from a kitten until you have seen the ball.

Compatibility and relayouts are the whole value

Catit's getting-started guide answers the question an owner of an older set will ask first: are the green parts compatible with the older blue Senses Circuit parts? Catit's answer is yes, 'all Catit Senses Circuits are fully compatible' and the parts 'click together seamlessly'. The circuits page adds that they 'are compatible with one another, regardless of their color', and lists 'backwards compatibility with blue Senses Circuits' as a feature. That means a Super Circuit bought today extends a blue set from years ago, and a second Super Circuit doubles the track without an adapter. It also means the three current sets are a single system split into three boxes; a SKU only decides the starting mix of parts.

Catit's stated reason for the relayout advice is interest. The getting-started guide says to 'try a new layout every now and then' because 'a fresh experience also helps to keep your cat interested', and the circuits page presents the easy-click system as what makes rebuilding quick. Catit also pitches the circuits as the connective tissue of its Senses line, linking to the Food Tree, Digger and Ball Dome as things a circuit can run alongside. The call: this is a toy that rewards an owner who will take it apart monthly. For a household that assembles it once and leaves it, the 12-piece set offers little over the 8-piece Play Circuit.

The ball, the bell, and the catnip trick

Each set ships with one orange ball, and Catit chose the color for contrast against the green track so the cat can follow it through the translucent cover. The ball carries a small bell that rattles as it rolls; Catit points to that as useful for cats that respond to sound, blind cats included, and says the bell can be removed if the noise is unwelcome at night. The ball is perforated and screws open, and Catit's tip is to spray a scrap of cloth or paper towel with catnip and seal it inside. A second ball, the motion-activated Senses Fireball with a flashing red LED, fits the same track and is sold on its own.

The cover is the other half of the mechanism. Each piece has a green see-through top with paw openings Catit says are sized for all breeds; they let a paw in and keep the ball inside. A cat that likes to carry its prizes off will find the ball never leaves the loop, which is either the point or the deal-breaker depending on the cat. The call: the bell and catnip cavity are cheap levers for reviving interest between relayouts, and the removable bell keeps the toy tolerable in a bedroom. Catit publishes no ball diameter and nothing on whether the bell is secured against a chewer, so a kitten that gnaws on toys needs watching with it.

Cleaning, registration, and what Catit does not promise

Catit's cleaning guide is short and specific. For a thorough clean, take the circuit apart first, then wash every part in warm water with dishwashing soap. Aggressive detergents and abrasive sponges are ruled out, and all parts must be completely dry before they are clicked back together. There is no dishwasher clearance and no wipe-down shortcut mentioned, so the maintenance model is a full teardown at the sink, which lines up with the relayout habit Catit recommends anyway: if the track is coming apart for a wash, it may as well go back together in a new shape.

The help hub offers product registration, the assembly manual, the two guides, and a customer service link, and lists the family under #43153. Nowhere on those pages does Catit state a warranty term for the circuits, an age recommendation, or a supervision instruction, and the circuits page has no safety note. That silence is worth weighing against the KONG-style labels common on dog toys. The Catit Flower Fountain page shares one gap: no US price on the brand site either, so a buyer comparing the two Catit items has to price both at a retailer. The call: register if you want a paper trail, plan on no published warranty, and supply your own supervision judgment; Catit offers none.

When to skip it

Skip the Super Circuit if you need the footprint before you order, because Catit does not publish one, and a 12-piece loop in a small apartment can end up in the only path between the sofa and the door. Also walk away if your cat has shown no interest in balls it cannot pick up; the closed cover is designed to keep the ball inside, and a cat that plays by carrying will be frustrated by a toy that never yields its prize. Settle that with your own cat before ordering: roll a ball across the floor and watch whether it bats the ball in place or tries to carry it off.

Consider the 8-piece Play Circuit (#43154) instead if the plan is a single flat ring that never changes; Catit says that set is 'completely level to the ground', which lets the ball pick up speed, and the extra parts in the Super set only matter if they get used. Pass on all three if the lack of a stated age guideline, supervision note or warranty bothers you, because nothing on Catit's pages fills those in.
