The $74.99 VH200 spells its numbers out — 12.5 amps on high, a 10-degree tip-over cutoff, a five-year replacement warranty — while Vornado's FAQ declines to quote a room size and bars unattended running.
A 12-cup glass-carafe drip machine at $129.95 on cuisinart.com, with a retro function knob, a 24-hour timer, a three-level warming plate and a charcoal water filter. The booklet explains the design better than the page does, and the price sits $10 above Cuisinart's own 14-cup model.
A $229.99 fuzzy-logic rice cooker that takes 45 minutes to an hour for white rice, holds it for 12 hours, and steams and bakes on the side. The case for it is the keep-warm logic, not the speed.
Cuisinart lists the CPT-122 at $39.95 with seven shade settings and a body 6.5 inches deep. Its instruction booklet explains what the plastic housing costs you in where the thing is allowed to sit.
